Housing Support
"We go the extra mile for the people we work with"
Supported Housing Service users in our scheme have their own tenancy Licence and rent their own home, while receiving support to build the confidence and skills needed to live independently. Individuals are responsible for their own bills and cost of living, which is usually paid for by the benefits they receive and can be topped up by earnings from any employment. Typically, people are ready to live independently or move on to alternative housing schemes from between six months to two years.
We go the extra mile for the people we work with, many of whom have multiple and complex needs for which there are no quick and easy fixes. We keep working with people no matter how challenging it may be, and we don’t give up on them.
We see our clients as people, not problems. As well as offering practical support, we believe it’s essential to give people the opportunity to discover a sense of purpose, to grow in confidence, express themselves and build meaningful relationships.
Our main aim is to provide safe homes and life support for those who need it. Sadly rough sleeping and sofa surfing is prevalent across Greater Manchester, and we are proud to be providing a solution to this problem, and a viable pathway out of homelessness.
A Voice for Change
Tackling homelessness and social exclusion
We are committed to tackling the underlying causes of homelessness and social exclusion, and we will use what we learn to make the case for prevention and systemic change. We are also passionate about promoting the voices of homeless and vulnerable people, whose stories often go unheard.
Support and advice
The aim of the scheme is to provide those residents who need it with support, advice and, where appropriate, non-financial assistance, to enable them to access and retain a home, to lead independent lives while in one of our properties, to learn how to become a good tenant, and to move on to other accommodation when they wish and / or are ready to do so.
Creating a path to independent living
We house a variety of people and our aim is to provide tailored housing support in order to help them to eventually live independently. People stay with us for up to and sometimes over two years in order that they have the chance to really turn their lives around at a pace appropriate to them, often moving through our different properties which offer increasing independence until they are ready to move on.
We are a trust worthy organisation
We are honest and open in our dealings with clients, staff and volunteers, partners, supporters and other stakeholders. We will do what we say we will do, and we will strive to communicate proactively.
